What this is

Bangladesh has one of the busiest newspaper markets in South Asia. Hundreds of dailies are registered, the online-only sector adds titles every year, and district papers open and close constantly. There is no official public register that keeps up. Finding a specific masthead — or working out which papers actually cover a given district — is harder than it should be.

This site is a plain index of that landscape. Every outlet gets one entry: what it is, what type of publication it is, which division it publishes from, and a link that goes to the publisher. Nothing more complicated than that.

How the listings are organised

Outlets are grouped two ways at once. By type separates print dailies from online-only portals, English titles from Bengali ones, and keeps television, radio, magazines, job sites and share-market sources in their own sections. By division groups papers by where they are published, across all eight administrative divisions — Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.

Most outlets appear in both views. A Sylhet daily is listed under local newspapers and under Sylhet Division, so either route finds it.

What happens when you click a masthead

It opens the publisher's own website in a new tab. Links pass through a page on this site first so we can see which titles people actually use, and that page forwards immediately — there is nothing to click through and no interstitial advertising on it.

What we do not do

We do not host, copy, mirror or republish anyone's journalism. There is no scraped article text on this site, no reader account to create, and no paywall of our own. The headlines shown on the news pages come from feeds the publishers themselves publish for that purpose, and every headline links straight back to the original article.

We also do not sell placement. A listing is free, and paying us cannot move a masthead up a page.

How it is kept current

Entries are reviewed against each publisher's own site: a title that has moved domain, merged, or stopped publishing gets corrected or removed. Small district papers change hosting and let domains lapse often, so broken links are the most common problem — and the most useful thing to report.
