Why Bangla text needs converting at all
Bangladeshi newsrooms and government offices have typed in Bijoy for decades. Bijoy is not really Bangla — it is ASCII with a Bengali-shaped font, usually SutonnyMJ, painted over it. Open that text anywhere without the font installed and you get Latin gibberish. Unicode stores the actual Bengali letters, so it reads correctly on any phone, any browser and any operating system, and search engines can index it.
That split is why a press release pasted from a newsroom often arrives unreadable, and why copying from an old e-paper PDF gives you nonsense. This tool moves text between the two.
How to use it
Paste into whichever box matches what you have, then press the button pointing the other way. Bijoy → Unicode is the common direction: text out of SutonnyMJ, Bijoy Bayanno or an older DTP file becomes normal Bengali you can post anywhere. Unicode → Bijoy goes back the other way for a print desk still laying out in Bijoy.
What it does not do
Conversion is character mapping, not translation — Bangla stays Bangla. Formatting, images and layout are not preserved, only the text. Some rare conjuncts and older typing habits do not map cleanly in either direction, so proofread anything you are about to print.
The conversion runs entirely in your browser. No text is uploaded, stored or logged.
