About Daily Janakantha
Daily Janakantha began publishing in 1993 and was, for a period in the 1990s, among the highest-circulation Bengali dailies in the country. It was one of the first Bangladeshi papers to print simultaneously from multiple cities, which gave it early morning delivery well outside Dhaka.
Its editorial identity is secular and liberation-war centred; coverage of war crimes trials and of 1971 history has been a consistent thread for three decades.
