About Somoy News
Somoy TV is a 24-hour Bengali news channel and, by most audience measures, the most-watched news broadcaster in Bangladesh. It went on air in 2011 as a dedicated news channel rather than a general entertainment station carrying bulletins, which at the time was still unusual.
Its reporting network extends to every district, and the channel pushes the same footage to its website, YouTube channel and apps within minutes of broadcast — which is why Somoy clips circulate widely on social platforms during breaking events.
